The summer is over. I drove home from my annual Labor Day Outer Banks vacation with a pumpkin spice latte in hand excited to return to the office refreshed. Which can only mean one thing – strategic planning season is upon us.
As of writing this article, there are 110 days until the New Year. Holy cow, where did the time go? The entire team at Commonwealth PR is knee deep in providing counsel to all of our clients and crafting their strategic PR plans for 2018. To be honest, we start creating these plans around June, but get into the full swing of things now. It is a humbling and fun experience to reflect on the previous nine months and remember what worked and what didn’t.
My type A personality was cut out for this type of planning. I love to sit down at the big conference room table with sticky notes, calendars, and markers to map out where we have been and where we are going, what worked and what didn’t, and how we are going to generate success for our clients in the coming year.
In 2018, we are implementing a new format for a lot of our reporting tactics to ensure that ROI is as clear as it can be for our clients. We are also implementing a strategically designed calendar format for each client to ensure we are all on top of the day-to-day execution in addition to a typical plan.
